Turn Out The Lights
On Saturday March 28, 2009 at 8:30 pm, the Adams County Green Coalition encourages you to participate in Earth Hour. This is a global event in which millions of people will turn out their lights to make a statement about our planet and climate change.
Earth Hour got started two years ago and is now the largest event of its kind in the world. Last year, more than 50 million people participated. The Empire State Building, Golden Gate Bridge, The Sydney Opera House, and The Coliseum in Rome were just a few places that participated in this global event. Even Google’s homepage went black for the day. This year looks to be even bigger as cities and countries from coast to coast and ocean to ocean look to turn the lights off the lights and turn the attention on to global awareness.
For more information as well as additional ways to spread the word on the event you can check out The Earth Hour homepage by clicking here.
