Toastmasters Open House

The Gem City Toastmasters Club will host an open-house meeting Saturday, February
20th at Calvary Tabernacle Church
, located at the corner of 12th and Hampshire in
Quincy. The special meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m., with doors opening at 2:00pm. There is no
fee, and reservations are not required, but people can contact Teri Keene at (217) 316-
4081 for more information.

A complete Toastmasters meeting will be conducted with prepared and impromptu
speeches and speech evaluations. Guests in attendance are encouraged to participate in
the meeting and give feedback to club members.
Through its member clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the
arts of speaking, listening and thinking – vital skills that promote self-actualization, and
enhance leadership potential.
“We believe that the community will enjoy seeing how the club’s communication and
leadership development program helps prepare members for higher pay and greater
personal recognition,” says Teri Keene, the club’s VP of Public Relations. “In times of
higher unemployment, people often take advantage of educational opportunities to
enhance their skills. Members are always interested in showing the residents of Quincy
how the Toastmasters program can help them be more successful.”
