Mixed Media Artist Daniel Botkin at the Alliance Gallery in December
Pre-Modern Visions For a Post-Modern World

The Alliance Gallery in Hannibal is especially pleased to welcome Daniel Botkin as their featured artist during the month of December.

Botkin, who lives in East Peoria, Illinois, studied art at Illinois Central College and Illinois State University and graduated with a B.S. in Art.  In September 1995 he began exhibiting his work professionally.  Daniel’s work has been exhibited in scores of juried competitions and galleries across the nation, and he has been the recipient of several awards and grants.

Botkin’s current mixed media work takes the viewer back to the Middle-East roots of civilization, to the times of Patriarchs and Matriarchs, Prophets and Prophetesses, to ancient ceremonies like Passover.  His paintings present Classical Biblical characters, events and themes that draw the viewer back to ancient times and traditions.
This exhibit will open on December 11, 2010 with the Second Saturday Gallery Night, featuring a gallery talk by the artist.  Come and meet the guest artist and the other member artists of the gallery from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  There’s fun, food and a drawing for free artwork at 6:00 pm.
