Great River Artisans Spring Art Show and Sale

Area members of the Great River Artisans, featuring local artists have announced an all new One of a Kind Spring Art Show and Sale for Saturday April 24, 2010. The event will be held at the Women s City Club in Quincy and will feature handcrafted art perfect for Mother s Day gift giving and home decorating for spring. Show hours will be 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. and admission is free.

Area artists participating in the Spring Show and Sale will be: Brenda Beck Fisher (painting), Ron Cook (stoneware pottery), Carol Gilliland (jewelry), Erin Heers (jewelry), Pat Kerns (painting), Suzette Krummel (penny rugs),  Linda Lucke (jewelry),  Kimberly Shinn (painting), Sarah Smith (needle arts) and Ann Miller Titus (fiber art). Many of the pieces are new and have been created exclusively for the Spring Show, including handbags, jewelry, planter pots and wall art.

The Great River Artisans was formed in 2008 as a group of artists and artisans who live and work along the Mississippi River in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. Individually, their work encompasses the decorative arts, wearable arts, and fine art. The group was formed to exchange information and ideas, share in opportunities for bulk purchasing of supplies, and hold an annual show and sale.
