E-waste is the fastest growing waste issue we face today. Many of these electronics hold toxic chemicals that can be harmful to the environment if not processed responsibly. We all have electronics in our basement, attic or garage that need to be disposed of, but where can you take them?

The Adams County Green Coalition will be holding its first green educational event on November 11th at 6:30pm at O’Griffs Irish Pub and Grill located at 415 Hampshire Street.  Guest speaker Bill Martin from Green TekEcycling will talk about a local electronic recycling location and the waste stream of electronics. You can even bring a few electronics for drop-off that night. GreenTek will offer a reduced fee to recycle monitors, CPU’s, printers, or a TV during this event only. Limit 3 items per person.  Other items will be accepted free of charge, including: toner cartridges, lithium batteries and battery backups.

Call Jennifer Sousa with the Adams County Green Coalition for more information at 217-228-4514.
