Digital Art Showing: Jackie Sperry
This is the first of Qtown’s “Digital Showings”. The goal of the Digital Showings are to feature galleries of local artists, be it professionals or amateurs. Qtown loves the arts and looks forward to promoting them through this feature.
Our first featured artist is Jackie Sperry. Jackie has been very active on the Qtown Facebook group for sometime now and as it turns out is an amazing artist. Please enjoy some selected sketches and feel free to pass on some love!
Artist Bio:
“I was born and raised in Quincy, Il. As a child I was constantly drawing, doodling, creating any form of art that I could. I took basic art classes in my Junior and Senoir years at QHS, and one drawing course while attending Quincy College. I drifted away from my art, and devoted my life to working and raising my daughter. Now that she is becoming a lovely young woman, I have decided to began drawing again, and find it is not only rewarding, but is also a great coping mechanism. If anyone would like me to sketch anything for them or would like to show my artwork at there business, they may contact me at jackie.sperry@sbcglobal.net.”

Very nice Jackie! I am doing the same thing, haven’t really done any art since I was expecting my son and painted a landscape for my Grandmother. I am taking a class at the Quincy Art Center right now in pottery and having a great time. But drawing and painting are my first love! You are very talented! Have fun with it!

Vicki…I really need to check into the Art Center and find out when they will offer a painting or drawing course. I don’t think pottery would be my thing.
