The 36th Annual High School Student Art Competition will be on exhibit from March 26th through May 12th at the Quincy Art Center. This exhibition highlights our very talented local and area high school students and has been made possible through generous donations from the Quincy Service League, United Community Credit Union, Lela Lindsay, Gary & Sue Winking, Great River Watercolor Society, Quincy Artist Guild, and the Illinois Arts Council, an agency of the State. The exhibit will include a variety of artworks from local and area high schools including traditional watercolors, pastels, acrylic & oil paintings, ceramics, and sculpture.

The opening reception will be held Friday, March 26th from 6:30–8:00 p.m. An award ceremony will be held at 7:15p.m. The judge for this year’s competition is Ann Marie Hayes-Hawkinson. Ann Marie is the Curator of Education at The Figge Art Museum located in Davenport, Iowa. If visitors are unable to join the festivities during the opening, they should feel free to visit the Art Center during regular gallery hours, Tuesday–Friday 12:00-4:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 1–4 p.m. There is an admission fee of $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for seniors, students, and children. Members may visit at no cost.
